RECIPE
Serve: 6 - 8 pcs
Prep time: 25 mins
Cooking time: 20 mins
Total time: about 45 mins
Ingredients
Dough
7g of SUISEN / Genmai powder
120g Glutinous Rice Flour
15g of Tapioca Starch
A pinch of Salt
13g Sugar
125ml of Hot Water
Fillings
80g Jujube paste (a mix of Jujube and Brown Sugar)
Corn Oil
- Combine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl, mix and knead into a soft dough. : Add the hot water little by little.
- Then, divide the dough equally into 8mini buns.
- Slightly flatten each dough with your palm and fill the centre with some Jujube Paste (about 8-10g each mini bun). Then, seal and roll to form a smooth mini bun. : Make sure to seal well to prevent the paste from leaking during the cooking process. Repeat the same with the rest.
- Heat up the corn oil in a frying pan over low-medium heat. Then, pan fry the mochi buns 4 – 5mins on each side or until golden brown color. : As you’re pan-frying the mochi buns, you can press onto them slightly with a spatula to make sure they are cooked thoroughly.
- I like to serve them warm, so let them cool on the cooling rack for a few minutes.
